Warning: The Aircraft Collectors Edition by Abacus

Featured Replies

I just bought The Aircraft Collectors Edition by Abacus and I just wanted to say that I wish I'd search the forums here before paying money for it. IMO it's not worth the $20 I paid and I've seen other posts to this forum that say the same thing.I had Abacus' Corporate Pilot for FS2k and really liked it, but the aircraft do not work in fs2k2. I probably could have fixed them myself because I believe the only problems were minor gauge issues. One thing that I couldn't fix, and a feature I really miss, was the FMC it had. So when I saw the "collectors edition" I thought it might be worth it. I assumed that Abacus had done some work to update the aircraft or at least made the FMC work. This seemed like a reasonable assumption considering that the box cover says, in two places, that the addon is for FS2k2.http://store1.yimg.com/I/fsc_1727_56054Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that Abacus made any changes at all short of troubleshooting the aircraft to make them flyable. The FMC isn't there and none of the aircraft have virtual cockpits (except those that were in the flying ranch addon). The aircraft from the private pilot addon don't even have cockpit views and the majority of the panel's look like default Cessna panels.I really think that putting the words "Add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002" so prominently on a product designed for 2000 boarders on false advertising.I just wanted to let everybody know.

Hello,Yeah, you're not the first to take an Abacus bath, I've taken plenty myself. Abacus does not make good quality end user aircraft at all. I won't buy from them again. This why they coined the phrase "Let the buyer beware."Sincerely,Hans
