Section 8 F86 Problem...

Recommended Posts

Good day. I'm a 'newbie' to fltsims. I have a problem and I am hoping that someone might be able to offer some advice.I am running the Section 8 F86 Sabre jet on FSX with MS Windows XP Home Edition. I was messing around trying to get a 'screen shot' of the F86 on take-off when I over-sped the gear and induced a hydraulic failure. What I would like to know is, how does one 'clear' or reset the hydraulic failure? On an initial start, the failure pops up but can be temporarily cleared by resetting the flight, however, the hydraulic failure will repeatedly reappear on subsequent flights.I've tried swapping file folders, deleting/reinstalling the Section 8 F86 files and even a complete uninstall/reinstall of the entire FSX program. None of this has worked. The failure is still there.Does anyone know how to get rid of this 'hydraulic failure' on the Section 8 Sabre? Any help or advice would be most sincerely appreciated. Many thanks...pintoguy@telus.net

The 'hydraulic failure' problem is fixed. I found the answer here:http://sectionf8.com/f8forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=291yes, it is possible to "repair" a hydraulic failure in flight:If the gear stucks halfway down, slow down to under 185 knots (you'll loose hydraulic pressure as long as the gear is not fully up or down). Then use the emergency gear button to bring the gear fully down (watch gear positon indicator). Gear handle must be in position DOWN for this.To repair the failure, move flight control switch to position "RESET" and back to "NORMAL". Select "UTILITY" readout on the hydraulic pressure gage and wait until the pressure has stabilized. Now, it should be possible to retract the gear with setting the handle to UP. Guess, on the real thing, a pilot wouldn't dare to retract the gear again after having it stuck. He certainly would be happy that the emergency button worked and then do an emergency landing at the next airport...Cheers,Hansihttp://sectionf8.com/f8forum/memberlist.ph...8a9e2c503017d0cHansi Posts: 91 Joined: Mon Oct 13, 2008 8:06 pm
