AS the title suggests I have downloaded and added variants of the 737-800 but there is no sound when I fly them. Lots of cockpit & external noise but no engine sound.Can anyone suggest how to fix please?

you mean addon textures? are your default variations working normal? if so, try comparing your new [fltsim.x] entries with default ones in aircraft.cfg
