ASA Newbie Needs help

Featured Replies

Folks,I have been using ASX (FSX) for about 6 months. Took a break and downloaded ASA (and Beta SP1).I now find myself dazed and confused and could use some help.1, My XGauge is now giving me strange readings. I load the current weather for KTOL...load FSX.....apply the weather. Now when I load FSX I get the ASA is updating WX message...and then it is complete.BUT when I load Xgauge it shows me at some godforsaken airport I have never visited . This airport is nowhere in ASA on any screen...yet Xgauge has me there even though I am not.EDIT: No matter where I am in the simulator Xgauge is stuck at Kbtl. Never moves...Xgauge is stuck there.2. Okay...I must have forgot something. I go to the briefing screen....setup a flight plan...refresh plan based on current WX. How in the world do I load this into FSX??? FSX will not recognize the plan I setup in ASA...I can't save it anywhere...it is just on my ASA screen...how in the world do I get FSX to use it? Thanks a ton!Tom from Toledo

Hi Tom,1. In ASA on the Report Screen, make sure that Lock to Closest is checked On. Also, on the Map screen make sure that Lock to FS position is checked On.2. ASA is not really a flight planner and what you enter on the Briefing screen cannot be saved and used in FSX. We use that general plan to pick a snapshot and to set some data. Do your official planning in FSX.Thanks!
