May 29, 200917 yr Just wondering if anyone else experiences stutters when using MegaScenery Southern California and Cloud9 KLAX? I know that any responders are going to ask for the FS9.cfg setting so I've included the settings that I'm currently using below. Please note that I've tried everything from reducing and increasing TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT to an incremental increase in the UPPER_FRAMERATE_LIMIT from 24FPS to unlimited. The attempts were done at different LOD levels and since FS9 can only display 38m mesh, (allegedly), I've finally settled on it. Most other sceneries accept that LOD level with no issues. The tests also were done on a clean FS9 install with update 1. There were no other sceneries or textures other then what those 2 sceneries came with.My FS9 system is a Core Duo with a Radeon 4870X2 (2gb VRAM) and is using ATI driver version 9-3_xp32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu. Have any of you flight sim gurus experienced this issue or have any suggestions? Please advise and thanks!Mark//My current settings[DISPLAY]TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=400TextureMaxLoad=10UPPER_FRAMERATE_LIMIT=40RUNWAY_LIGHTS_SURFACE_SCALAR=0.5RUNWAY_LIGHTS_VASI_SCALAR=0.5RUNWAY_LIGHTS_APPROACH_SCALAR=0.5RUNWAY_LIGHTS_STROBE_SCALAR=0.5[TERRAIN]TERRAIN_ERROR_FACTOR=100.000000TERRAIN_MIN_DEM_AREA=10.000000TERRAIN_MAX_DEM_AREA=100.000000TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=20TERRAIN_TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=8TERRAIN_AUTOGEN_DENSITY=5TERRAIN_USE_GRADIENT_MAP=1TERRAIN_EXTENDED_TEXTURES=1TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=9.500000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=4.500000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=4
June 7, 200916 yr I'm having trouble with Cloud9's Schipol-Amsterdam airport. Good luck getting any help from them. I've tried and get nothing to help me out and they treat you like your an idiot. They call their software error free, until you look up in their forum's and have 8 pages of technical problems.
June 7, 200916 yr TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=9.500000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=4.500000Those advices that tell you to set THAT, are totally bogus. They are unfortunately all over the internet, but exactly these settings cause often stutters. Anything past 4 on one of these two settings has no impact. Do you own tests if you don't believe me.This is the max that FS9 supports:TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=4TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=4TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=4
June 7, 200916 yr Author Thank you for the response and that's interesting. I wonder where everyone got that information from in the first place? As far as I can tell, the FS9.cfg settings are so poorly documented, and what documentation that does exist is disheveled, that I'm surprised anyone can get it right. Is there anyone out there who can actually document all of the settings in the FS9.cfg file? Surely someone has to know, after all, it wasn't written by a machine. Maybe one of you commercial members has an in at Microsoft and can get them to devulge all of the config settings :)Mark

It's in german though. And can be found here http://www.jobia.de/Thing is, as I was reading this document, I went through testing many of claims they write, and I could confirm all of them 100%.For one thing is the settings above mentioned, and some other scenery settings (especially the texture_bandwidth_multi setting).
June 7, 200916 yr Author I will download it...I think I will be looking for a PDF translator soon :) Thanks for the info and if you ever find a translated version of the thing, do let the group know! I'm sure it will be highly touted...Mark

I was looking around, but nothing similar popped up.I have attempted on many occasions to correct people from setting these faulty settings, problem is, most believe that those are correct.
