Joystick for Mac computer

Featured Replies

Having recently purchased an IMac computer I wish to buy XPlane, and wish to know what availibility of joysticks there are. I am aware that some are PC only. I am looking for something not to expensive. Is the Saitek Aviator available on a Mac platform? Thanking you in anticipation. Charles

The vast majority of USB joysticks will work perfectly on a modern Mac - normally the supplied drivers are incompatible but the actual joystick is 'plug and play'. I seem to recall that the Saitek Aviator works fine on Mac but I can't be sure. I use the Saitek yoke and pedals and they work perfectly well although Saitek don't officially support the Mac (though unofficially they have been helping out people developing stuff on Mac that uses their stuff).SetantaA quick google later and...Yes, the Saitek Aviator works on the Mac, but the 'mode' switch doesn't function as it does under windows. The functionality is built into the windows drivers - so the mode switch works as two buttons on the Mac - one of which is always on depending on the position. It's the same with the yoke.
