June 30, 200916 yr Hello everyone,I live in NYC and on my way home from work I take the Belt Parkway (which is located close to runway 13 JFK airport) I notice on certain days airplanes make their final approach on the runway and fly right above my head and was wondering how to recreate that same approach on FSX. My other question is why would aircrafts fly so close to the ground to only turn towards the runway at the last minute, and not make a different approach a less stressful one.Ang
July 4, 200916 yr Are you reffering to the Parkway Vis Rnwy 13L/R ? File an IFR flightplan and then request the approach fro mthe ATC wondow when they clear you for an aprpoach. It's a cool approach. I have flown it many times in the 727. You can also fly the approach as a VOR or GPS approach. Follow the lead in lights to the runway. The approach keeps the planes south of residential areas north of the parkway.
