July 28, 200916 yr Hey all,Fist let me start by saying I have searched virtually every forum google provides over the past two weeks to try to fix my problem...hence the reason I am posting another help needed post...Here goes...About 2 weeks ago, my fs9 started crashing. it woud give reasons such as terrain.dll, g3d.dll, modname unknown.dll and so on. I have tried the following: erased and re-installed fs9 twiceerased everything that has to do with fs9 via an windows search (except backup files renamed something else so it wouldnt find them)erased my fs9.cfg files and let them rebuildchecked for mutilple afcad filesinstalled only the default stuff (no addons)preformed a disk clean updefrag my computerran virus, and malware scansall of this and I still get the same ol same ol...it crashes about 35-40 (sometimes sooner) into a flight. even with just the defalut game. I have had fs9 since it came out and no problems until now.I havent added any new hardware to my computer since last october and that was upgrading to 2gb of ram.can anyone help me figure out what the heck is going on? Its almost like I am not erasing some corrupt file that is still on my system somewhere??Thanks so much in advance!!!

July 30, 200916 yr I'm not saying this is what's happening but a few years ago, I was experiencing something like that as well. I tried everything and nothing seemed to work, that is, until I tried a spare video card I had laying around and voila. That was the issue, tough as it seems. You don't happen to have another video card that you can try the old swap-eroo with, do you? Markvoila = Plus a change, Plus cest la mme chose

Markvoila = Plus a change, Plus cest la mme choseWell, sadly enough (or luckily, depending on how you look at it, since the solution is simple to apply, if costly) it's most likely the video card, as long as it's only FS that crashes. Same thing happened to me: After a while, after having used the video card for some five months the troubles started. I have read on many forums that Nvidia cards are prone to give problems with some computers. Mine was Nvidia. The current ASUS give me no such trouble so far...So - change the video card (or if possible borrow one from a friend and see, and then buy a new one).Sueede

I was afraid my computer/video card might be the case, as my computer has been automatically rebooting as well :( I have an ATI Radeon X300SE Hypermemory card...which I am sure is obsolete but its only 3 years old maybe? After reinstalling for a 4th time, I get messages where the modname varies from .dll to .dll but it consitantly says:C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9\fs9.CFG.txtC:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9\dxdiag.xmlC:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9\scenery.cfg
August 1, 200916 yr Hello,I have not a solution ... but methink the graphic card is not involved in this case ..Anyways .. before buy a new .. it will make sens to borrow some other graphic card (if possible) and make a test.Regards.Gus.
