A quick ? Nick if you don't mind also Nick does Memory on a Video card matter for FSX I have seen that the new video cards most have ddr5 now.
July 31, 200916 yr does Memory on a Video card matter for FSX I have seen that the new video cards most have ddr5 now.Yes.. amount, bus and clock in memory all mattersNo need to exceed 1GB, greater than 512 is good but greater than 1024 is not going to net anything unless a large number of monitors are in use and then it will only help with panning, not performance in the way of frames or smoothThe memory chip type is only going to help if the card is truly taking advantage of it within its core design. Right now the best card for FSX and higher quality procs/higher clocks is the GTX 285 1GB. The 2GB model can present small advantages to multimonitor setups but past that not worth the price or use in FSXCore clock is more important than memory clock however both do supply a better result. The higher the core and memory speed on the card selected, without becoming unstable or overheating, the better
