J41 Reverse

Featured Replies

Hello All,Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere. But I am having no luck in getting my J41 to go into max reverse.I am running the SAITEK Pro-Flight Yoke, plus an additional throttle quadrant.I have tried various combinations of configurations in FSUIPC to get this to work, but to no avail.I have tried using 1 lever as the power lever with reverse. I have also tried using separate levers for the power lever (no reverse) as well as a set of levers for reverse.I cannot get the aircraft to go past GROUND IDLE (the hash-marked area on the lever).Any assistance would be very much appreciated.

I have assigned F2 to the "button" function of one lever. On the Saitek Quadrant at least, moving the lever is an axis, moving it down (reverse) is a "button" function. You'll find it in the corresponding section of the controls setup.

Brendon,I have the same setup (but only one throttle quadrant). I setup the left two knobs as Power Levers, and the right knob controls the Condition Levers. The easiest way is to setup FSUIPC so that when you pull the Power Levers back behind the idle detent, it sends a repeating F2 keystroke. There's also a setting to send another keyboard command when the "button" is released. Set that send a single F1 keystroke.Do the same for the other Power Lever. Now when you pull the Power Levers all the way back past the idle detent, it will slowly command full reverse thrust. Pushing the lever forward into the idle detent will cancel reverse. Because you're actually sending a "cut throttle" command, the return to idle from full reverse thrust is VERY abrupt. But without the ability to assign an axis range to reverse thrust, it's the best you can do.Is that clear as mud?Regards,Nick
