Abacus Carrier Strike Force Installation problem

Featured Replies

I have been trying to install Carrier Strike Force which I downloaded a few days ago (FSX under Vista64 HP), but the .msi extracts itself and then stops giving an error message box saying "Error 1721.There is a problem with this installer package. A program required for this instal to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." That's the first problem. The second problem involves the response from Abacus, or lack of it, as it seems they never read or reply to email. However, I did get Flight Deck 5 to install into the same system, with exactly the same configuration, so why CSF will not install is a bit of a mystery.Has anyone had this problem before and can it be resolved? I am on the brink of taking it that I am in dispute with Abacus and that I will be attepting to recover my money.

From Abacus: This pops up now and then with various programs. The problem is with the Windows Installer package. The user should either install the latest version of Window Installer, or un-register/re-register it. Here's some help on the topic: http://forums.techguy.org/windows-95-98-me...ror-1721-a.html Note that on Vista to get the 'Run' dialog, users can press CTRL + ALT + DEL, then select Task Manager, then click the File mane and choose New Task (Run...).=====================================================If this doesn't solve your problem, e-mail Adam Howe directly: [email protected]
