September 12, 200916 yr I think I understand virtual airlines, except for one thing: do all pilots fly on a common server, so that they can see and interact with each other? Or do they all fly alone, on their own computers, and merely report on the website the scheduled flights that they've performed?

Or do they all fly alone, on their own computers, and merely report on the website the scheduled flights that they've performed?I think there is some of all of that depending on the Airline. For the most part however I think that a VA Pilot flies a Scheduled Trip at the proper time (FS-Wise). How that is reported to the VA varies depending on the Line. In the case of my VA, we use VAFS. I don't think there are many "Common Servers", although I could be mistaken.Russ SpaldingChief Pilot Midconair.com

Or do they all fly alone, on their own computers, and merely report on the website the scheduled flights that they've performed? This really depends on the virtual airline in question as it can very from VA to VA:Some virtual airlines allow you to fly off-line and just report your flights (IMHO, I don't see the point of joining a VA if you are going to fly offline); Some virtual airlines have their own dedicated server that all pilots for that particular VA fly on;Some virtual airlines fly on networks such as Vatsim, IVAO or other network.Hope this answers your question,CXA001Canadian Xpress Virtual Airline VATSIM: P2 | I1
