September 14, 200916 yr Greetings, Years ago I used to fly a great deal and I am now getting back into flying with FS9. I am looking for an active VA that has a training program, checkrides/exam type thing for promotions, a decent website and a decent fleet. I've been looking at several VA's now that seemed to fit the bill .... and then it became apparent that they were no longer active (response after 3-4 weeks if any at all is not exactly active). The aircraft I enjoy flying the most are the Pilatus PC-12, the Lockheed C-130 Hercules and the Boeing 757. I would prefer to fly as a cargo pilot. The reason I would prefer a VA with a training/checkrides program is because I prefer earning a rank over just "here you go, you're now a senior ATP captain 'cause you can fly with 32 speed across the atlantic and managed to get 5000 hours". Is this an unrealistic wishlist in the current world of VA's? If it isn't, could someone please point me in the right direction? Because I seem to be failing at finding these VA's. Regards, Iwan de Kleine
September 14, 200916 yr Hello, If you are looking for a VA like this I have one for you as I fly for them also. It isn't Cargo but you can fly the 757-200 and I think maybe even the C-130 is on there list of aircraft downloads. Go to http://www.deltava.org/ they are accepting pilots again. they were not for a long time. So if i was you I would get me foot in the door. They have a really realistic promotion program. You have checkrides. and you have to take a real good written test for every promotion. You have to score 80 or 90% to pass and you must take one for each step from FO to Captain in every aircraft you go to. and they have good routes and a good reputation. I would say go with them for VA flying. You can not speed up the sim rate also so it can take a while to build up in the ranks. If you have any questions please feel free to email me at: [email protected] You.
