FSX cockpit GPS terrain feature

Pilots,I had an issue with the default GPS displays (Garmin GPS295 and Garmin GPS500) where they were not showing any terrain elevation detail other than color. I discovered that there were no terrain relief shadows showing on the displays. Which give you an overhead view of the surrounding terrain relief.
