October 10, 200916 yr Since I'm apparently the only FSX user who doesn't have Acceleration, I downloaded some aircraft carrier add-ons (Four Landable Carriers Scenery V5.0), which requires ArrestorCables 2.6 for trapping and catapulting.Using Vista and Dino Catteneo's F14D updated to work with FSXArrCab2.6 recognizes the cables and locations, but no matter how many times I land (and I checked the replays, I'm usually touching down right between the 2nd and 3rd cables) I never trap. When I hit Shift-F8 to check the status, it will display "Tailhook DOWN TRAPPING NOT NEEDED Nearest Cables _________". It's that "trapping not needed" line that confuses me.With catapulting, I managed to start the game with my jet on the deck, taxied out to a catapult, and hit Shift-F9 to arm the catapult, but got a message stating "to far from nearest cables" despite the fact that I was less than 200ft from the cables. So I put the settings to manually arm the catapult, and catapulted off, then promptly "splashed" into the water before my tail has even cleared the deck.
