JS4100 - issues with sound

Featured Replies

Hi,I experience strange issues with sound in JS41. Some sounds come out from headphones, some from speakers. And I can't change this. For example: engine starting sound comes from headphones, but when engine has started its running sound comes out from speakers. I've tried to change sound settings in FSX, bug haven't managed to change anything. The only solution for me to direct all JS41 sounds to speakers is to disconnect headphones. I use USB headphones, so those are visible to system and FSX as a separate sound card.Is it known issue? Is there any setting I've overlooked?

Am I alone with the issue? Just have tried with SP1 and it is still repro. This makes headset useless for me, because goal to use it is to hear voice in it, but while I hear engines and cabine sounds it doesn't make the best experience.

I use a usb logitech headset for online and havent had that issue with or with out sp1. What if you restart your rig with out the head set plugged in and start fsx then plugged in headset do you still have the problem. I have been having some sound card issues lately but not related to fsx. Im using win xp pro. The fix for me is to just restart windows with the head set unplugged. So you may have a conflict with drivers somewhere so you may also want to check and see if there are some new drivers out since windows just put out an update in the last few weeks. Hope this helps you out in some way.

Just have tried this and it looks that if I remove USB headset and simple restart flight this is enough to move all sounds to speakers. Then I can plug it and go to settings to set all voice to headset.Important to mention that:1. I don't have this issue with any of FSX default aircrafts nor with any other application.2. Unfortunately this still can't be considered a workaround because I'll be required to perform this every time I start PMDG flight.
