Stuborn Airports

Featured Replies

I had never payed much attention to scenery addons or terrain mesh other than the few commercial products I have bought in the past which for the most part, have all the bugs sorted out. Recently however, an excellent 3 arc per second freeware mesh has been released by Alvaro Romero Vargas. The first release covers Colombia and more is in the works for the rest of latin america. My problem lies in the fact that with the new mesh some airports maintain their default altitudes which makes them show on top of steep hills or sunk under surrounding terrain. I have been trying to create flattened areas (FSSC) to level these airports. However, I usually end up with very unrealistic jagged walls where the flat area ends and the mesh takes over. No soft progresive transition towards the surrounding mesh.Would anyone here care to offer some advise? Thanks in advance.MauricioPS: Sorry if I am on the wrong forum but this one seems to get more attention than the all the others.

Sorry Mauricio, I don't believe there is any simple solution. It is possible to manually edit the source data where these problems occur, but this is a very large job, even for a single airport/lake/... You can then create your own mesh using your edited source data.Maybe this issue will be resolved in the next version of FS. ;)Stevewww.fs-traveler.com

Thanks a lot Steve. I'll be crossing fingers for a fix on the upcoming version.Mauricio
