Constellation to Establish First Comms and Tracking System

Featured Replies

UASO Headquarters - Norfolk, VA) It was released today that the United Aeronautics and Spaceflight Organization has begun designing the first virtual communications, tracking, and global positioning satellite system. This multi-purpose satellite system will be utilized to help the UASO with short and long range space missions for years to come. This satellite system, appropriately named Constellation, will utilize 24 satellites placed into various geosynchronous orbits to provide real-time tracking and communication capabilities for future spaceflight missions. The Boeing 702 satellite bus design has been chosen for the satellite system. The Boeing 702 bus weighs 13,580 lbs, is powered by two wings with three to six panels of Ultra Triple-Junction (UTJ) gallium arsenide soloar cells. The satellite is powered by 24 to 40 cell Li-ion (236 Ahr) batteries. No launch dates have been set, however, the launch vehicle of choice for the Constellation program is the Titan-34D. More information will be released as it comes available. Please visit http://www.vuaso.org.
