Multiresolution Causes "Flash"

Featured Replies

I have FSX with Acceleration and have created a landable carrier using FSDS. I have positioned the carrier using aicarriers (a great little tool!).To keep frame rates up, I made the carrier as a multi-resolution model. However, when the resolution switches, there is a noticeable "flash" from the entire deck of the carrier (i.e. it flashes white). I would nortmally think this has something to do with the fact that only the highest resolution version has the landable deck. However, the escort destroyer (which is also a multiresolution model) does the same thing - the deck flashes. The models have the names simple_LOD_400, simple_LOD_100, etc. I have used the multi-resolution destroyer in FSX before and have never had this problem. Is aicarriers somehow causing the problem? Is there any way to stop it?Thanks,Phil
