Downloading wx files in AS6.5

Featured Replies

Hi there,I work on a ferry crossing the North Sea from England to Holland and I was wondering if it is possible to download active wx files without using the AS6.5 interface, I will explain why.My ship spends the whole day in England, and the next day in Holland. When in England i can use my mobile internet dongle to download the latest wx files in AS6.5, however in Holland my dongle does'nt work, therefore I have no internet access on my laptop where AS6.5 and FS2004 are installed, however i can access the internet via a computer in the ships office, although this pc does not have AS6.5 installed. i was wondering if it is possible to download wx files and then transfer them on a memory stick to my laptop where i can then load them up with As6.5.I f this is possible, where can I download the files from?regards, Mark Cable :( p.s. I have also posted this in the HIFI sim website as I noticed that it seems to take a while to get answers there.

Hi Mike,1. I myself answer posts at the same time at both forums. Yes, there are more user help type posts here! I'll answer here but not on our forum!2. You need to use AS to download the files because of encryption and compression that we use. My suggestion is to download and save enough weather files and use Offline Mode when you don't have that Internet connection. Thanks!

Hi Jim,Thxs for your quick reply.regards, Mark
