747 success at last!

Just a note to say thank you for all the support this forum provides. I've owned the 744 for FSX for around 9 months and managed to 'steal' bits of time here and there to fly it between family and business commitments. Needless to say the learning process has been long and sometimes frustrating! It's always been operator error, but still; frustrating. Anyway tonight I have finally conducted my first complete flight without any problems: EGPK to EGSS in the Atlas Air cargo version. Properly programmed FMC with SID and STAR and full autoland in very poor weather. All worked perfectly. The sense of satisfaction is superb!Couldn't have done it without this forum and the excellent training collateral supplied by PMDG so thank you to all of you.Now if I could just get some realistic ATC.......

Congratulations!I totally agree with you... The learning curve for this plane is a steep one! This is for serious flight simmers only... I was immersing myself in checklist and tutorials a week before I bought the product. I learned how to operate it successfully in a weeks time, also with the help of forums. :(
