July 25, 200322 yr Hello guys, I'm just starting to get involved in the FS community, and needing some help pretty bad. Is there anywhere on the internet that might give a good reading of what each gauge in the plane's purpose is? Like the Heading indicator, those numbers are confusing as heck, and if there was a place that would explain them it would help alot. And I would also like to find somewhere that shows how the flaps work in the air, and fuel mixture and everything. I'd like to get involved in this pretty heavy, but it's hard to do with the lack of knowledge I have on airplanes. Thanks a bunch guys, and it is appreciated. Darin
July 25, 200322 yr It seems to me that you know very little about these matters. So my advice is: start with the lessons which are included with FS.Jozef http://www.dse.nl/~joker32/pictures/signature.jpg
July 26, 200322 yr I enjoyed these two tutorials when i was getting started:http://avsim.com/geoffschool/ (right here on avsim, but not about guages per se)http://www.navfltsm.addr.com/index.htm (more what you are looking for, but focused specifically on Nav instruments)
July 26, 200322 yr if the on-line tutorials don't satisfy you, go to the nearest gen aviation airport and see if they have the faa's private pilot's handbook and instrument flying handbook. very good starter books.
