Fsx DX9 = flickering cloud reflections

Featured Replies

When running FSX in DX9 mode the cloud reflections on the water flicker on and off but when running FSX in DX10 mode the cloud reflections appear normal. Unfortunately for some reason my PC runs at half the frame rate and stutters when used FSX in DX10 mode but in DX9 it runs at a silky smooth 30-100FPS with no stuttering. This leaves me with 2 choices:DX9 with flickering reflections or DX10 with stuttering frame rates. Help! :( This problem happens with both the default FSX cloud textures and with the replaced Xgraphics cloud textures. I also have an upto date video driver.Win 7 64bit, i5 750 @ 3.8GHz, XFX HD5850, 2x2GB XMS3 DDR3, 1TB Samsung F3, Asus P7P55D LE, Corsair 550W PSU FSX Acc. FS Global 2008, UTX (all), GEX USA, ASA, Xgraphics

I've just noticed that the flickering cloud reflections only happen in the outside view. In the cockpit view the reflections dissapear altogether except for in the microlight where they appeare normal.
