February 5, 201016 yr Good Morning All,I recently purchased a competing product for cloud and water textures, which included some runway and taxiway textures, without realizing that you have Graphics X. I have read the info on it on the website, but would like to pose a couple of questions about it here. I have used AS in various versions for quite a few years and really like the program, and currently use ASX in FSx. The reason for my interest in Graphics X is the integration possibility. So, there are some 'holes' in my information about the product, thus this thread.1) Do your water textures allow for very calm conditions ('glassy' water) up to quite choppy (inland) or large swells (ocean) conditions through various packages/themes that can be swapped out immediately prior to a given flight?2) I'm intrigued by your "hard winter" set. Does that partially/completely cover runways and/or taxiways when you employ those?3) This likely can't be programmed, but just in case - do the wave sets change direction with the wind if using in conjunction with ASX (ok, I won't ask if you have programmed in spray that hits me in the face on a very windy day on the coast :( )?4) What resolutions do the packages/themes offer for clouds and ocean textures?5) Do your clouds obliterate the ground below so you have 'for real' IFR?The two things I really like from what I'm reading in Graphics X are the fact you have stratus clouds (we get that 90% of the time up this way in Canada during the winter), and the hard winter set. I fly bush aircraft in remote regions most of the time so water (including ocean) textures and the hard winter options really interest me.I'd appreciate hearing from staff and users alike on these things if folks have a spare minute or two. Many thanks for the info :(
February 6, 201016 yr Hi,Thanks for your interest!1. No, just the textures and not the wave heights.2. No, just the edges with some snow textures.Concrete at airports is kept free of snow as much as possible.3. Nope!4. Clouds at 512 X 512, 256 X 256 and 128 X 128 with 32 bit and DXT5 format options. All other textures are at the FSX default sizes.5. If the weathe program calls for OVC-IFR then our textures will show this condition. It is not up to the textures, but your weather program.
