Putting all the excitement to constructive use

Featured Replies

We're boiling over with excitement about FS2004. I found some perspective on all of this in an interview with Tom Allensworth (AVSIM)in the current FSInflight magazine -- http://www.fsinflight.com In the second half of this long interview, Tom considers how secure the future of FS may or may not be, and what we can do about it. Worth reading. He points out the importance of bringing new people into the community, because otherwise FS could be driven out of the market by shoot-em-up games. Gresham's Law. He says we should all make an effort to encourage and support new users. Between now and the holiday gift-giving season, tens of thousands of people all over the world will take their first flight in FS2004. If many of us, hardcore simmers, need advice before we can work out how to get the most from FS2004, imagine the experience complete beginners will have. Is there any way for us to share our experience and, ahem, wisdom? By doing so, we could enlarge the market for the new products we look forward so easily to using. Otherwise...This might sound off the wall, but I think of the way the Dean for President campaign has taken off. They've supposedly had great success using "meetup.com"
