July 31, 200322 yr Yesterday I flew in the San Francisco Bay area when I saw a peculiar entry in the 'nearest airport'-list: Hamilton AAF. I could select traffic, but no runway... not that strange, Hamilton is closed for almost 8 years now. The lay-out of the airport is still there, in FS2004, with yellow 'X'-s on the runway. Still, it was in the list.But... when I approached Alameda NAS, I was able to contact Alameda tower, and get clearance to land on RWY 25. Alameda NAS is also closed for a few years now, the runways are 'X' marked...Now I wonder how old the airport data is in FS2004. Those two airports were actually closed in FS2002. Or maybe it has something to do with the fact that AI can land on non-towered airports in FS2004, so more (older?) airport-data is required. But then again, Alameda *was* a towered airport.Very strange... maybe this happens in more places?[p]
