sound cracking

Featured Replies

I have noticed when turning on the fuel pump in some airplanes I hear sound cracking every 10 or so seconds. It is the fuel pump sound. What can I do to fix this? Convert it to a higher quality sound file?ThanksDavid

Change BP=0 to BP=4000000 LOL!Just kidding! What hardware do you have? any add-on soundcards or modes that you run?

This was reported by Flyingbits to be a problem if the card has a mode selector for "entertainment" "Gaming" or "Audio creation" modes, make sure it is in "Gaming" mode or else you can get crackling sound in FSX.

It is set to gaming, all accelerations are off. It is only the fuel pump sound file, no other sound file does this. Now come to think of it, I downloaded an alternative sound pump file from the library here that makes it more quiet. I wonder if it changed the quality of it? I'll replace the original and try againIt's just a quick second cracking sound, in a loop once every 10 seconds or so, more noticeable in light aircraft. not actual static cracking like some people have seen
