FSX Test - Fluctuations

Featured Replies

Hello together,I would like some to do a simple test to check something: I see very high FPS fluctuations in my FSX when FPS is on unlimited - only for testing purposes. I don't really understand why this is happening - it may be either FSX internal thing, which I can't change or something else. I never had it otherwise. For instance, I load a default Bombardier over default scenery (GEX, UT, REX, but no custom airport or something) and I see 150 fps, but they tend to go up and down, mostly from 80-160. It really makes no difference what I set for AA/AF or in fsx.cfg - I always have these fluctuations (as long as I set unlimited, otherwise it usually pegs at max. limit). Thanks!

That's normal with FSX in DX9 mode.

Okay. Is there a reason for that? Other games don't do that. Not if pause it or keep still in one position.

I have this issue as well (and that's why I lock my framerate from within FSX, FPSLimiter does not quite solve it) and for me it seems to be worsen in the presence of (many) clouds

Best regards,
