May 3, 201016 yr EuroHarmony pilots set course to investigate volcanic ash !The management at EuroHarmony VA were surprised, like so many in the aviation world, at the huge impact of the recent airspace closures due to volcanic ash drifting across Europe from Iceland. So we've decided to play our part in the search for a better understanding of the dangers and the measures required to make flights in affected regions safe before the next big eruption. From 12th May 2010, adventurous pilots are invited to join us as we begin a new 'ProPilot' Event that circumnavigates the globe taking in 15 of the most active & interesting volcanoes on the way. We have selected our EuroCargo Division Boeing 747-400F as the ideal choice for this mission, its four engines giving increased safety margins as we probe the impact of ash clouds on the engines and systems at varying altitudes. So if you like a challenge why not sign up for this exciting Event HERE - just make sure you learn your engine restart drills first!EuroHarmony VA is a relaxed and welcoming nine year old VA with thousands of flights from seven worldwide Hubs to destinations across the globe. Our Fleet includes a huge range of aircraft types both modern and vintage, most of which are now FSX compatible following recent maintenance operations.
