Addons for/with Global 2010

Featured Replies

Can someone tell me what if any addons are compatible with this program. Right now I have Scenery Tech installed.Tim Diamond

FS Global is terrain mesh. SceneryTech is landclass - it tells FSX what sort of texture to place on the terrain mesh.Theoretically any mesh and landclass can be used with each other. Depending on how those are arranged on the scenery library you'll get one addon manifesting on top of another. For example FS Global has terrain mesh for most of the Earth's land surface. You can also use with it, a terrain mesh that deals specifically with one area of the Earth. Like a detailed terrain mesh for the Matterhorn, or Everest, or the Grand Canyon, etc. The more localized mesh should be higher on the list in the scenery library than the FS Global. FSX will use Global mesh for any areas it doesn't find higher priority, more detailed mesh. It's probably not a good idea to use localized mesh for the same area, though.I do not know the specifics of landclass, though I imagine it works much the same as terrain mesh. I know scenery tech is continent based so there's no real danger of "clashing". Just keep in mind landclass is a totally different product from terrain mesh that that the use of one mesh doesn't preclude the use of another landclass for that area, and vice versa.
