Drivers For FX Cards. Help.....

Recommended Posts

Guest Bob I

Hi,Is there a WHQL certified driver for the FX series video cards that will display the instrument panel in FS9? I have a 23 inch digital display, that has fits when I try to make it run on the 45.xx series drivers. I get the panel in flight sim OK, but I lose one inch from the right side of the monitor. The strange thing is that my 19" Sony crt works fine. I talked to the digital display manufacture today, and he is pulling his hair out with calls from folks with the same problem as me with FS9. He had some words for both MS and Nvidia, that I can't print here. If you know of an earlier driver for Win XP, that allows the panel to show in FS9, please let me know. A BIG thanks.Layabout

There must be something about the FX cards that transcends OS differences. Here I am with Win98SE (for which the latest driver release is 44.04 WHQL) and the same problem you have.I used an older GeForce card with the same drivers and had no problem with the 2D cockpits. Hence my feeling is that its not the drivers, but the new chip. We'll see - things will undoubtedly change for the better - most likely sooner for you XP users than us 9x luddites.

Hi Gents, I have a Pentium 4 3.0GHz, 2Gb DDR400 Ram, and a GeForceFX5900Ultra 256Mb card.I upgraded to this spec specifically for FS2004, and guess what - 2d panels don't work with the 44.03 drivers. I upgraded to 45.23 drivers, and my machine randomly reboots itself - it really doesn't like them. Frame rates are quite poor with FS2K4, souwhere in high teens to low 20's. The FX card has actually made it worse for FS2K4, I used to have a GeForce4 Ti4600. Hopefully there will be a driver and or bios release for the FX cards to solve this problem.I will stick with FS2002 for a while now, that gives me up to 144 fps, much better.Bryan
