Northern Airways Virtual Announcement

Featured Replies

CHICAGO-Northern Airways Announced today that they would be adding more flights to the Caribbean. Port-au-Prince, Santo Domingo, Kingston and Nassau will be added to its network. The airline has also eliminated the stop in San Juan on many of the existing flights to the Caribbean; Most flights to the Caribbean now originate at New York Kennedy, the airline's largest international hub. Northern Airways CEO, Michael White, said, "While the stop in San Juan allowed passengers coming from DFW to make easier connections, it increased the flight for passengers from New York by two hours. Non-stop flights from New York also allow many aircraft to make two round trips a day so we only needed one more aircraft for the expansion."757landingSXM-1.jpgA Northern Airways Plane landing at St Maartin, one of the destinations that now has non-stop service from New YorkNAWShuttle-3.jpgNorthern Airways also announced that they would begin a new service called Northern Airways Shuttle. Northern Airways Shuttle will operate hourly flights between New York LaGuardia, Washington Reagan and Boston Logan using mainline 737-800 and 717-200 aircraft. Passengers may book their flight up 30 minutes before the scheduled departure of their flight and can fly in either coach or first class. All passengers on each flight will receive complementary snacks and beverages. All Northern Airways Shuttle flights are listed in the timetable and are numbered in the 8000 series. Northern Airways CEO, Michael White, said that "our largest hub is in New York Kennedy so we think that there are many potential passengers in the New York Area who are already familiar with our service." In order to free up enough aircraft for Northern Airways Shuttle and the Caribbean expansion, Northern Airways did have to decrease frequency on a few routes, they also eliminated one route out of Detroit and moved another from Kennedy to O'Hare. Michael White said "We have also adjusted our schedule to make to maximize our aircraft utilization. In the past two years we increased the number of daily flights by 8% without increasing the size of our fleet, we have also made some scheduling changes to try to maxamize the loads on our flights; in many cases the first departures of the day and last arrivals of the day at our hubs are flown with smaller aircraft because there are less passengers that will be making connections." for more details visit our website at www.northernairwaysva.com
