GeForce FX5900 Users...

I've been having some problems lately with this. When I start FS, I get the message..."Your computer cannot currently use 3-D hardware accleration as it has less than the required amount of video memory. Software 3-D mode has been enabled. Some graphical features may not appear in software mode."So I reformatted my PC and all was back to normal - FS ran fine. Then I began installing all the usual programs, and suddenly, the message came back again! I tried reinstalling nVidia drivers, DirectX, to no avail. So I settled for another reformat and tried opening FS after installing each new program - The first time I found that the message appeared after I installed OfficeXP, and another time, after installing Norton Antivirus. I've already reformatted my PC 6 or 7 times. Have any other FX5900 users experienced this?I'm running aPentium IV 2.4GHz1GB RamnVidia GeForce FX5900 Ultra 256MBDirectX 9.0b, DetonatorFX 44.03Does anyone know what these non 3D programs have to do with my graphics card?:) Melvin Rafiwww.meljet.com

I have the same system as yours except my system is a Pentium 2.2GHz system. I have had no problems with my FX5900; however, I have the 45.23 drivers (WHQL'd approved) installed. You should run Direct X (dxdiag.exe) and see if there are any problems and make sure DirectDraw, Direct3D, and AGPTexture Acceleration are on. Make sure Norton Antivirus is NOT running when you install or upgrade your video drivers. Hope you get the problem fixed soon!Jim Young
