August 13, 200322 yr Can anybody tell me how to reverse the collective axis for helicopter flight. I read somewhere that adding a line to the appropriate cfg files would do the trick, but when I tried it, it had no effect.
August 13, 200322 yr Are you talking about reversing the throttle? If so you can do it in the joystick asignment section.Jon
August 13, 200322 yr Hi, GraghamDTry with this in your FS9.cfg file.A minus sign before the value (AXIS_SCALE_XX=-64) will reverse the action of the selected axis (if has a minus sign yet, delete it).[JOYSTICK_MAIN {9274CA80-29A1-11D7-8001-444553540000}]AXIS_EVENT_00=AXIS_RUDDER_SETAXIS_SCALE_00=-64<---------------------------reversed axisAXIS_NULL_00=36AXIS_EVENT_01=AXIS_PROPELLER_SETAXIS_SCALE_01=128<---------------------------normal axisAXIS_NULL_01=1AXIS_EVENT_05=AXIS_THROTTLE2_SETAXIS_SCALE_05=-128<--------------------------reversed axisAXIS_NULL_05=1AXIS_EVENT_06=AXIS_THROTTLE1_SETAXIS_SCALE_06=-127<--------------------------reversed axisAXIS_NULL_06=1BUTTON_DOWN_EVENT_00=BRAKES_RIGHTMine FS9.cfg looks as above.Hope helps for you.Regards Dirk Trotteyn
August 14, 200322 yr Thanks Dirk,I'll try that. I was hoping there might be something I can put in the helicopter cfg files so that the throttle would not be reversed for fixed wings. If the worst comes to the worst, I can always write a batch file to switch cfg files according to which I am going to fly.
August 14, 200322 yr Hi, GrahamDYes, I did (in the past) a batch file for selecting one of the two fs2002.cfg I had. What I did, whas for select the trhottes assignment for the FROLOV
August 14, 200322 yr MS Force Feedback 2 for everything. I've generally got used to using this for Helicopters. In both Enemy Engaged Comanche vs Hokum and SAR4, I have the collective reversed, hence have got used to using it this way.
August 14, 200322 yr Hi, GrahamDI send you some pictures of a collective control I home-made by myself. It is very pleasant an realistic for helo flight. If you have some technical resources, and you encourage to build something like this, I will happy to send you more info.Best regards...Dirk Trotteyn (SANT)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/30683.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/30684.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/30685.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/30686.jpg
August 15, 200322 yr Thanks,Much as I would like to build something like that, I don't think I'd get planning permission. I'd be interested to know what kind of circuitry is required to interface with the PC though.Graham.
