July 10, 201015 yr I'm about to do a bit of an upgrade on my system and I need help deciding whether I should upgrade my RAM or my motherboard first. I currently run 2x1GB of DDR2 RAM (can't remember the speed I think it's either 400 or 600mhz) in the stock motherboard (made by Dell) of my Studio 540. Like most Dells overclocking is disabled. So for my upgrade I am debating getting 2x2GB of DDR2 RAM (from Corsair) or an ASUS P5QPL-AM LGA 775 Intel G41 motherboard. This should enable overclocking right? What speed would I be able to reasonably overclock my e7500 to running on air cooling?Which one of these upgrades would provide the biggest performance boost? With my budget it's currently one or the other so I'm looking for the best purchaseHere are links to both:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813131394http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820145195(any other info about my system is in my signature)Thanks Alex
July 10, 201015 yr I would upgrade your mobo first for a number of key points. The benefits will be OCing is enabled and there is always the chance that the standard dell mobo will reject the new ram. Changing mobo first will allow many changes including ram, CPU, gpu etc.

I'm trying to get the most for my money but I don't want to spend over $100 or soAlex
July 10, 201015 yr The reviews don't look too good as many have had issues however spec. wise it looks good foryour budget. Just be wary of your warranty when buying items that have been known to have issues with other users.
July 11, 201015 yr I did some more searching around and eventually decided on a P5Q-SE Plus. This board was also problematic around the time it was released and many people sent theirs back for refunds but it appears there was an update in the BIOS that fixed this and now with an abundance of nearly new boards I got mine for a $30 discount so I think I may have found my deal.RegardsAlex
