Active Sky Evolution-Interpolation details same all stations

Featured Replies

I just purchased and installed ASE and am trying to learn the program. I noticed that whatever airport I selected in the "Report" section, the interpolation details read exactly the same. I tried, for example KCMA (Camarillo, CA), KRHV (Reid-Hillview, San Jose, CA) and KMIA (Miami, FL). The individual METAR data was different for each airport, as expected. But shouldn't the interpolation data be different for different airports across the country, or is there something I'm not understanding.Thanks.

Hi,Thanks for the purchase.Interpolation is only used at airports that don't have a weather station. In fact, if you are at an actual station and click on the Interpolation Details Icon, the message that this station includes complete surface weather information, interpolation disabled. You can also tell by looking at the METAR and look for ADVANCED INTERPOLATION at the end of the METAR.Please let us know if you need more help with this.

Jim, This morning, I opened ASE and checked KCMA. Initially, after checking Interpolation Details Icon, it gave me the "interpolation disabled" message you referenced above. But when I checked a 2nd time, it said the following:NE: Dist: 378 DXXX 121700Z 2009KT 9999FEW013 BKN100 27/22 Q1012 NOSIGSE: Dist: 527 FOOG 121700Z /////KT 4000FUSCT008 BKN026 24/22 Q1013SW: Dist: 985 FHAW 121750Z 13015KT 9999SCT025 BKN035 26/18 Q1014 BLUNW: Dist: 335 DGAA 121700Z 23012KT CAVOK27/21 Q1012 NOSIGWhen I checked other airports across the country (KMIA, KJFK) it had the exact same verbiage in Interpolation Details section.Could this be a bug?Using ASE build 572 & FSX sp2, and registered version of FSUIPC.UPDATE:OK, I just discovered that if I leave the "Report" Section of ASE and then click the ICON for any other section, for example, "Options", then return to the "Report" section a few moments later, I re-check "Interpolation Details" and then I will get the correct "Interpolation Disabled" notification at the appropriate airports. Strange.

Hi,KMIA and KJFK will never have interpolated data, they have data 24/7. The only way they would is if they went offline due to severe weather. Also, you need to close the Details box as you move from station to station. I don't believe that window will automatically update without closing it and re-opening.
