Always foggy in Toronto

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, I am using AS6.5 with FS9. I've been noticing this problem alot recently, in which the weather depiction in Toronto is always foggy or overcast. For example, for this METAR:CYTZ 130000Z 12003KT 9SM FEW081 24/20 A2975 the depiction starts out as shown in pic 1 (which I think is an accurate depiction), but within minutes changes to what is shown in pics 2 & 3. This change has nothing to do with new METAR data being downloaded (it is the same) or the plane's location (it will change even if you stay at the gate). It is just a delayed change which adds this foggy layer. Now, I think this has something to do with the fact that the visibility here in TO is often reported as 9sm instead of 10sm which is more common elsewhere. If I remember correctly, there is a glitch in FS9 at this visibility threshold. Is that the problem? Is there a way to fix this without setting the minimum visibility to be 10sm?Thanks alot for your help,Al

Hi Al,Yes I checked it out and I got the same thing, but the 9SM visibility is even what NOAA has for that airport. None of the other airports in that area are reporting 9SM. So unless you want to limit visibility to 10, then there isn't anything we can do. But if you do that, then when the vis. is really less than 10, you will not get that.
