To all that fly the Lear 45's (Your Grounded)

just got this in the email from AOPA that all US Lear 45's have been grounded. Pasted from AOPA MailThe FAA, building on an action that took place last spring, has ordered the grounding of all 173 Learjet 45 corporate jets flying under U.S. registration. There are 230 of the aircraft flying worldwide. The problem stems from an actuator in the tail that affects pitch control. A crack in an actuator last March caused severe vibration and nose-down pitch, but the crew was able to control the airplane and land safely. A new part was then made and installed in the fleet, but the FAA now has concerns over quality control of that part: It is made by MPC Products of Skokie, Illinois. Another new part is expected to be ready for FAA approval in two weeks.
