FS 9 crashes when trying to run after hard drive crash

Featured Replies

-I was running 2 hard drives and had my flight sims on the D drive. -The D drive kept crashing so it's being sent back. -I tried to reinstall FS 9 on the C drive, and it loads Ok. But when I hit FlyNow the program crashes. Any ideas??TIA,Steve

you need to be a little bit more specific on the "program crashes" part. For example:- crashes with error message from within FS9, such as default flight not found, etc (this is an easy fix, since FS9 is aware of the issue)- crashes with a DLL or .EXE error (harder to fix, since FS9 is not aware)..but knowing which file is causing the crash will help - crashes with zero messages; program just *poop* and gone (again, harder to fix, need to run Filemon to target the issue...usually caused by missing textures or files)- BSOD (usually caused by hardware)etc...then we can help you better....cuz there's a million different ways for a program to "crash"-feng

Apologies, and thanks for taking the time to explain. It does #3: "- crashes with zero messages; program just *poop* and gone"
