Aircraft Cfg Weight Balance

Featured Replies

I use the JS41 within AirHauler (I know its not cargo but I use the weight of Pax and cargo space to simulate my cargo weight) However Im having a few issues when loading the cargo through air hauler to the aircraft and how this interacts with the dynamic load sheet on the aircraft.First issue, in the aircraft.cfg file empty weight is defined as 14144, with a comment that it varies by reg. Which in the sim is apparent as my BA/BMI/EZE are all BOW of 14647 , but where is this figure coming from in the sim.Station LoadsI see that there are 6 station loads 0-5 and are labeled.I can see that the for cabin(2) and aft cabin(3), are made up of the figures from the seating, with a 165 value for each seat, which then gives the FUll Wt figureI take it Low Cargo(4) is the pod and the AFT Cargo(5) is the aft cargo, Other than not busting the ZFW or MTOW does anyone know a normal maximum value for these?the (0) crew value should typically be what? What my issues is, is that in AIr Hauler I can load to all these stations, if I set the values I plan to load using air hauler so each entry is the same, on the loadsheet, but then load the air hauler values, all looks fine, but then when i click an entry on the loadsheet(say the fuel value) the ZFW and Takeoff weight change on the loadsheet? Why is this?RegardsJames Carr

James,I'm not sure how they force each reg to have its own unique BOW. Remember that Empty Weight and BOW are different. BOW includes the weight of the crew, required fluids (oil), and unuseable fuel. Empty Weight is just that...empty. The BOW of our airplanes at ACA were in the neighborhood of 15,000lb. Ours were a wee bit heavier than "standard" due to the fact that we had some optional equipment installed. If you're simulating an airplane equipped as a freighter, then your BOW will be significantly lower without all the seats, supplemental oxygen, and emergency equipment installed. As far as the cargo compartments are concerned, check the limitations section of the FCOM. For the sake of convenience, they are:Aft Cargo Compt - 1,200lbLower Cargo Compt (Pod) - 350lbRequired crew would be two for a simulated freighter; no need for an F/A.I'm not sure I understand your last question? The ZFW shouldn't change when editing the Fuel value obviously, but the TOW should. Are you sure you're referencing the correct portions of the load sheet? I'm not familiar with Air Hauler, but if you could post some screenshots of the discrepancy, it might become more clear what the issue is.

Thankyou for your help with some of the issues. Much appreciated. With regards to the last question, I'll try to explain it better what I am saying is say I had set all the values on the loadsheet to what I want so loaded pax, put some cargo in the aft and pod etc... all adds up to what it should do, with ZFW TOW etc all fine. I then tell Air Hauler to load the cargo, which basically the loader for that is the 6 Loadstations that are in the Aircraft.cfg so if I enter the same values into that as I have already now specified on the loadsheet within the aircraft, it should be my understanding that what the aircraft loadsheet is showing will match what airhauler will actually load, so in essence nothing will change. However as soon as I click on any of the boxes in the loadsheet(normally at this stage I will be changing the fuel entry to match what I have loaded. the figures of the ZFW etc change indicating that possibly what Air hauler as loaded is in fact someway different to what the loadsheet is taking into account and thus the figures are changing based on what airhauler as now loaded into the cfg file. So somewhere I think it has something to do with a load factor that is added to take account of something (crew etc or something) which is maybe why/Where the BOW figure comes from vs the Empty weight.
