Programming CH Yoke Throttles

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,Is it possible to program or assign the left-most throttle to the left engine(s) and the middle one to the right engine(s)? It would certainly help turning during the taxi phase.Thanx, John Membrino

Sure. And you can do it within FS, not having to use CH Control Manager at all. Just go into OPTIONS/ASSIGNMENTS and assign away.In fact, why not fly Tristars or DC-10s? Then you can program all three, LOL. That's what I do when flying the trusty L-1011.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg

Hey Dark Moment,You were right on.I kept looking in the wrong section of the engine commands. Your note made me go back again - and again. Finally I found the answer. No excuse; Joystick 'Axis' was staring me in the face, but I kept looking at the 'Buttons/Keys'- and of course, no selection was available..Thanks for taking the trouble to clue me in.John Membrino

It's a shame that FS9 doesn't allow you to have several configurations, like one set of assignments for a single piston aircraft, and another for a triple jet. There is a way around this, by keeping seperate config files, and telling FS9 which one to use at startup. You have to rename these (like fs9jet3.cfg or fs9piston.cfg) and move them to your main fs9 folder. Then you can make an new shortcut to fs9 (like "...fs9.exe" /CFG:fs9jet3.cfg). This loads fs9 with the specific config file.

Now if that's a fact, that IS a useful tip. Hope it makes it to the sticky at the top of the page.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg

A possibility here would be to use the CH Control Manager and "map" for different aircraft configurations? Or would FS9 override the mapping? Haven't had time to try it yet.MDavis

Yes, you can do it that way, MDavis. Any map you create will take priority if you load it before opening FS****. But Control Manager can cause its own problems; it's good to know a way to do it within the sim, as above. Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg
