Problem with FS 2004 Menu System -- Please Help ?

Featured Replies

I just started running FS 2004 on an Athlon XP PC under XP. I use an ATI Radeon 9700 PRO 3D Graphics Accelerator card. The entire FS 2004 (FS9) Menu System is such that whenever I scroll anything in that UI the pixels slowly become corrupted. If I scroll by a full page the corruption is faster. The behavior appears to be that *instead of scrolling* text and pictures correctly, the text and pictures actually appear to smear accross the screen in the direction of the scroll direction as if the text and images before scrolling were not erase before performing the scroll operation. I have to constantly refresh (by pressing Home or Back) to get the text and images to display correctly and be readable again.Note that I use the default settings that FS 2004 came up for the Video card. Also one strange behavior is that if Tab-switch to a different application while FS 2004 is running, the other application scrolling is also messed up in the same way (this include Windows Explorer, IE 6, etc...). Which leads me to believe that FS 2004 programs the ATI Radeon 9700 PRO in such a way to cause this artifact in all 2d rendering.Interestingly enough, 3D rendering (as in flying) is flawless, just that the extensive help and textual information is useless....Any help is greatly appreciated.

Never mind it is a known issue of the ATI 9700 Drivers. Thanks Salter

Actually the 3.2 Catalyst driver may have fixed this problem but it does persist with the Catalyst 3.7 (the latest drivers).I have a call into ATI support to see what they say...Really annoying though!
