intermittment blurry textures with ATI 9800 Pro

When switching to spot mode I'm getting blurry textures quite often. Sometimes, if I hit the alt key as if I'm going to bring down a menu, then click the screen again to restart the sim, they'll go away. Other times, it takes a few minutes for the blurs to clear up. I've tried renaming my fs9.cfg so that a default one is generated but the same problem happens. I have the lastest ATI drivers, and my system is a 2.5 ghz with 1gb ram.
