September 17, 200322 yr I notice the only way to look up all detailed downloaded weather info. (cloud base, winds aloft, turbulence, etc.) is by clicking on custom weather - advance, whereby I can then probe on these pieces of data, before switching back to getting real weather download again.Does anyone knows how I may obtain and view these info WHILE flying my plane such as Cessna 172 / Piper Archer / etc.? It will be excellent if I can obtain such info on weather at any nearby weather stations in the area I'm flying in, other than tuning in to available ATIS. That way I can then know how the "live" weather is developing as I fly along, and knowing which area to avoid. So far, only Shift-Z can get for me wind speed and direction. By the way, for Shift-Z wind direction shown, is it in magnetic north or true north reading? Thanks in advance.skyward
September 17, 200322 yr You simply have to get Weather Center 2.0 then. I know, I know, more money to be spent, but in this case it's precisely what you're looking for. It has an ingame setup window where you can download all the latest realtime weather, set options for tons of stuff - even what source you get the weather from - and you can input your flightplan so it knows what to keep updated. Then it can minimize to a small radar screen that shows the storms and whatnot ahead like a real life weather radar. On top of all this, the clouds and fog etc are all increased in realism that's 10x what you see ingame now. There's layers of clouds and varying updrafts and wind currents and turbulence. It's just a dream of a program.Take a look, try the demo. http://simulationwidgets.com:8080/WC2/Wc2Home.htmP.S. the demo also comes with a freebee ingame web browser that you can keep. A standalone browser too, not one that takes up a kneeboard spot.P.S.S.Sorry for sounding like a Weather Center 2.0 a really excited user. I have zero benefit from you buying this, hehe. Just really really like it. It costs 21 euro.
September 17, 200322 yr You know, I only briefly scanned thru' your link and before long I'm already fully convinced by your persuasion. It's looking like exactly what I want indeed!By the way, your feedback above, is it refering to use i FS2004 or FS2002?Thanks a lot for the recommendation.skyward
