September 17, 200322 yr Simple question hopefully. If crash detection is turned off, which it is at the moment for me, would I be able to make a reasonable "wheels-up" landing, or would the aircraft still sink into the runway?
September 17, 200322 yr I done a wheels up landing in 2000 and maybe 2004 in the king air default with crash realism on full. You'll come to a stop with out the engines dieing but once at a stop you wont be able to move. Not sure if any changes have been made in 2004. Just got to come in just right. BTW the reason for the wheels up landing was because I was using FSFailure and lost my gear. Since then I've increased the chance of loosing my wheel but still fly with FSFailure on every flight. Since 2004 I've lost my ADF a few times and twice lost my engine due to electrical failure.NP
September 18, 200322 yr I did a wheels up landing in FS2002 with the PIC767.It is possible. But you must land at no more than -50 feet per second descent and the aircraft must be level ;)JohnP 2.53 GHZ512 RAMWINXPGFORCE 4 128MB Ti4600http://homepage.eircom.net/~eamonnmca/images/logo_ba.JPGwww.bavirtual.co.uk Senior Captain Simflight.com Staff Reviewerhttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg
September 18, 200322 yr My forgetful roomate confirmed it the other day flying the Lancair Legacy. Sat it down on the pavement with the gear up, and it slid about 3-400 feet to a stop, prop grinding to a halt and all. Only the very tip of the wing "sank" into the ground.
