September 20, 200322 yr As the fellow said when watching a trombone player for the first time, "There has to be a trick to it. He can't be swallowing that thing every time".That's the way I feel when trying to perform a simple, basic keyboard command in FS 2004.That is; opening doors and hatches on FS aircraft.I can do it with ease if there is only one door. On two "exits"; for instance, I can't seem to get the hang of it.Microsoft says, under General Aircraft commands, Select Exit: SHIFT+E (then press 1-4 to open/close)When I hit SHIFT and keyboard E, one "exit" opens just fine. But attempting to open the second "exit" (cargo hatch on Cessna Caravan for example) when I hit the SHIFT key and Keyboard E + keyboard number 2 (not Numpad 2) and the first exit that just opened -- closes.Since I have no problems with FS 2004, great frame rates etc., it is pathetic that I bring this rinky dink problem here; but, I just wondered if there was some sort of trick, or something, to getting the second aircraft "exit" opened.btw, I really love FS 2004. I do. I love everything about it except its' Real Weather. Maybe that's why there are so many third party weather thingies out there. I guess I better buy one.Regards,DonaldS
September 20, 200322 yr You have to press Shift-E and then "2" really fast. Don't hesitate between the keystrokes, and it will work fine.- Martin My site: www.martinstrong.com/FS_Project.htm
September 20, 200322 yr Hi Donald,You write, "But attempting to open the second "exit" (cargo hatch on Cessna Caravan for example) when I hit the SHIFT key and Keyboard E + keyboard number 2 (not Numpad 2) and the first exit that just opened -- closes."This sounds like you are holding all three keys (Shift, E, and 2) at the same time. If that's what you are doing, I don't think that is right. Try chording the Shift and E keys, then releaseing those and pressing the Keyboard 2 key alone. I believe that will work for you. R-
