September 26, 200322 yr When flying the 1948 Aleutian Airlines FS2004 Adventure I am warned that I'm exceeding the speed for the under carriage.On the right of the control panel are two lights. One reads "Gear Locked" and the other is "Gear Unlocked"Despite the gear being raised after take off the "Gear Unlocked" light continues to be alight.How can I lock the gear in place please?Cliff
September 27, 200322 yr Open the throttle panel. At the bottom of the throttle quadrant, in the center is a pull lever. September 27, 200322 yr That's the TAIL wheel lock.The DC-3 has wheels held up by hydraulic pressure, so they have no lock. If pressure is lost, the wheels drop by gravity. The red light stays on to remind you the gear is UP. The DC-3 dates from the early days of retractable undercarriage, remember.Allcott
