September 29, 200322 yr I bought all 4 US FSScene textures for FS2002. While I appreciate the resulting textures, and I am sure a lot of work went into the product, the prices seem extremely high. Folks should think twice before spending so much:1) It cost me $100 just for the US textures for all seasons.2) It cost $10 to upgrade between 2k2 and 2k4. I don't see any visual difference. I think this was just done for compatibility reasons. I wonder if I spend another $100 for 2k4, is there any guarantee it will work in 2k6, especially if the scenery is completely overhauled.3) Not all textures are modified. At least in 2k2, desert textures remained the same, and I think forest textures remained the same (at least I still notice the spots when flying low). The city and farm textures do look very good.I would suggest the following:1) Like FSGenesis, give package deals. You will get more loyal customers.2) Like DreamFleet, give 2k4 updates for fee. Again, you will get more loyal customers.3) Be more honest in your advertising. Tell us what textures were modified, and what were left alone. Show comparison shots on your website so we can see the difference.I posted this on the FSScene website as well.PapaTango
September 29, 200322 yr Rest assured you are by no means the only person to express these sentiments in regard to Fsscene. I think many people have put a lot of thought into deciding whether to purchase the product or not.
September 29, 200322 yr I absolutely argree!I have bought the European Textures for FS2002 already and was disappointed beause only a small part of the textures were actually replaced.I should have been warned but I wanted to give Fscne a second chance and bought the europeam summer textures for fs2k4 too (the whole package, not the update). And again: The same thing! If you just have one region of Fscene you will always get some kind of "texture mix" between Fscene and the standard FS textures. So, if you really want a complete texture-exchange you'll need at least 2 fscene regions: the usa-set (that FS uses as "standard" set, whenever there are no special regional textures) and -for example- the european set. This means you´ll have to spend at least 50.-
September 30, 200322 yr Hi,i must say, i dont agree with the oppinions above.I had the FScene textures for FS2002 and i just bought the FS2004 upgrade for the european textures for $ 10.-For me the european textures look a lot better and more natural with the FScene textures now in FS2004. The stock MS textures in europe looked pretty boring for me, not much different than in FS2k2.This may be different with the american textures in FS2004, i think the stock generic textures look a lot better than in FS2k2, and so far i dont see a reason for updating them with Fscene for now. I havent checked how the american Fscene textures look like.At least for europe i only can recommend the Fscene generic textures!Cheers,Michael (EDDL)
