October 4, 200322 yr I got my Track IR yesterday and I can't get the software to load correctly. I've tried loading/uninstalling 2.11 final from the CD and web, 2.12 beta from the web so far. I can get the Track IR to work fine in FS2002 and LOMAC demo.My problem is that I can't see anything in the software control to adjust sensitivities and assign hotkeys...etc etc. When I load NaturalPoint I get these messages in order:Failed to load language fileFailed to load game fileFailed to load language fileThen the software starts up and I cannot see any text. If I load FS2002 up and hit F12 it centers the view and things, but it is way too sensitive and I can't adjust it!!I've uninstalled it and searched the registry for anything having to do with Naturalpoint or TrackIR and then reinstalled it and it still won't work. When I look in the TrackIR folder after installation, there is an english language file and things, so I'm not seeing the problem.Any suggestions??P4 2.41Gb DDR333 ramGf4 Ti4200 128mbWin XP Prousing onboard AC97 soundMS ForceFeedback 2 joystick and MS Explorer mouse are only other 2 USB items
October 4, 200322 yr The only time I had any problem was when FS was not installed to the "default" directory i.e. Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9.I also had a problem that may be related to yours that my registry was somehow altered so that FS9 pointed to the FS2002 .exe. This messed up installs.Sorry, that is all the help I can be. Currently my TrackIR works beautifully in both 02 and 04.Sorry for your troubles.Good Luck,Mike
October 5, 200322 yr Mine's working fine on XP Pro in 2002 and 2004 and I have both installed to non-default directories. Some things I'd try...1. Uninstall again, and go to the directory where TrackIR was installed to make sure it's all been deleted. Go to regedit, search on the words "naturalpoint" and "trackir" and delete any keys that reference it.2. Disconnect the TrackIR and reboot. If you've got any other programs running in the background (anti-virus, firewall, utilities, etc.), turn them off for the time being.3. Reinstall TrackIR to the default directory making sure to follow the instructions for when the unit should be plugged in and unplugged. You may have already done this sort of generic trouble shooting, at which point, I'm out of ideas. Best of luck! It's hard to imagine flying without this thing anymore for myself.
October 5, 200322 yr Hi guys, thanks for the replies. I've already tried all the generic trouble shooting I can think of. Naturalpoint's tech support was no help either. Guess I'll send it back :(
