October 5, 200322 yr Being not an expert pilot, I wanted to ask which is medium jet (like 767/777) has the most realistic FDE?Both the 737NG and PSS Airbus are kind of bugged at the moment, so I am looking to try a freeware plane until a patch is released.
October 5, 200322 yr Moshewhat's wrong with the 737?If you're still using FS2K2 try the 767 PIC.Can you please define what EXACTLY do you expect when you say realistic? Always have in mind that MSFS is quite limited in that respect, especially when it comes to reproducing the behaviour of heavier planes of the types you have mentioned (actually it's quite good with the smaller props like the cessna).//Mike
October 5, 200322 yr I am using FS2004, realistic as in, roll on the ground, so I can reduce thrust to idle and it will keep rolling. (that's how it's supposed to be, right?)And realistic climb rates. The wrong thing about the PMDG, mainly fuel problems, sid/stars, no direct to. (and this is not meant so one will reply that those are no problems, I'll wait for SU2)
October 5, 200322 yr MosheThe problems you have mentioned with the PMDG are related to panel/AP/FMC, not to the the flight dynamice per se (read the .air + .cfg files). If you want to test the flight dynamics you should look into things like AOA for a given weight/speed/flap settings, fuel consumption, the way an aircraft responds to control inputs etc. and compare these against official literature. Many of these addons come with comprehensive tables for performance. if these tables are taken from the real thing and you can reproduce those numbers in the sim then you're looking at realistic flight dynamics. There is another issue which is related to reproducing trim forces and the liniarity of the joystick. This has to do with the "feel" of the aircraft and its inertia and this is also where the sim IMO fails the most in replicating its real world counterparts.//Mike
